Spending time with God. My whole being always longs for His presence. When I’m not spending time with Him, I have Jesus withdrawals. My mind thinks of nothing but wanting to be alone with Him. His presence is what I was created for. That intimacy that you can’t get anywhere else but in His presence was what I was created for.

Easier said than done.

My lack of discipline has caused me to go on a roller coaster ride with God. Sometimes my relationship with Him would be amazing. Other times it would not be good.

But I got breakthrough over this through a revelation from the one my soul loves. I got victory.

Jesus is my Best Friend. He’s my Husband. I have married Him, therefore I’m committed to Him first and foremost. If I am truly in love with Him, I would want to spend all my time with Him. Best friends don’t talk once a week, once a month, once a day. They talk as much as they can with one another. They spend as much time as they can with one another. That’s who Jesus is to me. My Best Friend. I can do all these things for Him. Lead worship, pray for others, preach, teach, etc. But nothing means more to Him than my time. It may not be easy at times, but I love Him. Love is commitment. Commitment is shown through action.

“And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.”
- John 17:3

“My lover spoke and said to me,
       ‘Arise, my darling,
       my beautiful one, and come with Me.

 See! The winter is past;
       the rains are over and gone.

Flowers appear on the earth;
       the season of singing has come,
       the cooing of doves
       is heard in our land.

 The fig tree forms its early fruit;
       the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
       Arise, come, my darling;
       my beautiful one, come with Me.’

My Lover is mine and I am His;
       he browses among the lilies.”
- Song of Solomon 2:10-13, 16 (NIV)
